Health Insurance

The College recommends, but does not require, that students carry private health insurance throughout enrollment in the program to cover needed health services that are beyond first aid. Students who do not choose to carry health insurance are solely responsible for all costs incurred related to his/her health while a student at the College of Nursing. While we do not recommend any specific program, resources are offered here for your consideration:

National Student Nurses Association (NSNA)

Students at the College have the privilege of joining the National Student Student Nurses' Association (NSNA) that entitles them to membership at the state and national levels. Members from all participating nursing colleges in Virginia form the Virginia Nursing Student Association (VNSA).

By being active in the NSNA, students have an opportunity to share ideas with other nursing students and gain experience and knowledge in preparation for participation in the nursing profession and its organizations. Conventions are held at the state and national levels; you are encouraged to attend.

For further information contact NSNA.

Professional Liability Insurance

Students are encouraged to carry professional liability insurance in order to go into clinical area. The student pays an annual premium for the amount of coverage which can be purchased through the National Student Nurses Association.

Housing
