Congratulations to faculty member JeanMarie Digges, MSN, RN, for winning the 2018 DAISY Faculty Award! JeanMarie was selected for her commitment to teaching, service, practice and scholarship. In her nomination colleague and faculty member Amy Feurer wrote, “JeanMarie promotes collaboration and learning among peers and students. In the traditional classroom, she has actively sought the feedback of her students in order to enhance their learning; and in the online classroom she is adept at developing relationships and working with at-risk students. She is always there to provide assistance to her peers and to collaboratively make changes that improve the quality of the course.” Feurer also noted JeanMarie’s dedication to serving vulnerable populations. “She has been active in Global Outreach for the last three years as a member of the Global Outreach committee, volunteering with Remote Area Medical in Grundy, Va. and serving with Team Haiti. Her quiet yet strong leadership skills have been instrumental in the success of these teams. Her service to the college, students, and her peers is exemplary.”
JeanMarie’s commitment to teaching the next generation of nurses is what makes our College so special. Congratulations on this deserving honor.
