Kathy Ingersoll, MSN-Ed, RN, a valued member of the simulation faculty member at Bon Secours Memorial College of Nursing (BSMCON), has been honored with the 2023 DAISY Faculty Award. This recognition is a testament to Ingersoll’s unwavering commitment and compassion as an educator.
Ingersoll was nominated for the award by one of her students who praised Ingersoll’s dedication and genuine care for each student’s personal growth. The student’s nomination letter highlighted Ingersoll’s uplifting and supporting teaching style, as well as her advocacy on behalf of her students.
Despite facing various learning challenges, the student expressed gratitude for Ingersoll's unwavering commitment to ensuring their understanding of confusing concepts. As quoted from the nomination letter, "She always encourages me to reach out when I feel overwhelmed, and if I stumble in class, she's there to guide me. She taught me that embracing different learning styles is a strength."
